From November 30, Calais is transformed to offer a grandiose festive atmosphere. The Place de l’Hôtel de Ville, a true illuminated jewel, is home to a monumental fir tree and decorations that embrace the holiday spirit. Don't miss: the traditional automated Christmas decoration which takes place in the sumptuous hall of the City Hall until January 5, 2025.
All the boulevards are adorned with new illuminations that have given the city its reputation for an atmosphere worthy of sweet Christmas films. Perfect for a shopping spree for the perfect list to Santa.

Under the Halle de la Place d'Armes in Calais, the ice rink becomes the essential place for these celebrations. From November 30 to January 5, Children, families and friends can enjoy the joys of skiing for €2, all in a magical winter setting. Slots are specially reserved for people with reduced mobility, so that everyone can experience a shared Christmas in Calais. A little tip from a professional skater: remember to bring a pair of gloves to enjoy it for longer!
The Place d'Armes also gains all its luster from the illumination of its Carousel 1900 which sits in the middle of the market during the holidays. Climb up for a ride for €2 per seat.

Two markets in Calais
It's not one but two markets that await you in Calais! From November 30 to January 5, theThe Christmas village on the Place d'Armes extends the magic with its chalets offering treats to enjoy with the family. And for the little ones, a 1900 carousel awaits them for a ride full of nostalgia.
From December 7th to 15th, The 40 chalets of the Christmas Market and Santa's chalet take over the Place du Grand Théâtre. It is the ideal place to discover local products, please your loved ones, or simply treat yourself to a gourmet moment. Children will be able to meet Santa Claus in person in his chalet, for a photo that will remain etched in their memories.
