Exposition « Auguste Rodin, sculpteur des Bourgeois de Calais »

CALAIS
In 2025, the Calais Museum of Fine Arts will unveil a new gallery dedicated to Auguste Rodin and his iconic work "The Burghers of Calais," created for the city in 1895.
Thanks to an exceptional loan of 21 sculptures from the Musée Rodin in Paris, this exhibition constitutes the largest deposit of Rodin's works in France.
The immersive, chronological tour explores the major stages of Rodin's artistic life, from his early days to the influences he left in the 20th century. Highlights include a monumental, animated reproduction of The Gates of Hell and a unique insight into Rodin's collaboration with Omer Dewavrin, former mayor of Calais.
