The daily lives of residents under the Occupation

Included in the tour of the bunker's 20 rooms, the exhibition "Civilian Life During the War" invites visitors to explore the daily lives of the region's inhabitants under the Occupation, through a collection of period objects gathered and staged by the DKOR & Bombing association.

Bicycles, clothes, suitcases, strollers, toys and everyday tools make up a material testimony to the war years: how life was organized despite shortages, how one grew up under the bombings, what forms adaptation and solidarity took on a daily basis.

The Calais Memory Museum

The DKOR & Bombing association is renowned for its historical reenactment work, particularly on the films Dunkirk by Christopher Nolan and De Gaulle. This exhibition is part of the permanent collection of the Calais Memory Museum, which retraces the history of the Second World War in Calais and the region through major events, life under the Occupation, bombings, resistance and liberation.
