With this exhibition, the Musée des beaux-arts de Calais is thanking its donors by highlighting the works that have recently entered its collections, almost a third of the pieces on display. Some have never been seen by the public before. A common theme seems to naturally connect them, that of the portrait, an attention paid to faces and bodies. All these pieces are modern creations and belong to contemporary art, new forms of figuration, photography and street art.
