Originally, the estate was given as a wedding gift to the Baron of Saint-Paul, whose family settled there permanently. For several generations, the castle became the center of local life and the cradle of this aristocratic lineage, which resided there until the beginning of the 20th century.

After the family left around 1920, the property changed hands and was notably farmed by market gardeners. The estate was then transformed, particularly with the planting of fruit trees, some of which still exist today.

However, from the 1980s onwards, the castle was gradually abandoned and fell into serious disrepair. It wasn't until 2003 that it was bought and restored, thus preserving this local heritage and bringing it back to life.

Today, the castle remains an important witness to the history of Hames-Boucres, illustrating both the evolution of large rural properties and the architectural heritage of the region.
