The largest outdoor skatepark in Hauts-de-France

The Calais Beach Skatepark is unlike any other facility of its kind in the region! Located directly on the seafront, Along the Gaston Berthe seawall, it stretches its 4,000 m² of concrete facing the English Channel, with the ferries crossing to England in the background and, further on, the silhouette of the Calais DragonThe skatepark covers 2,700 m², divided into bowls, a street park, and platforms. Concrete was chosen for the structures and surfaces of this XXL skatepark. Why? Because its ultra-smooth finish provides an extremely pleasant ride. Harder, thanks to the addition of quartz, and more stable than wood or metal, concrete offers riders a better sense of speed and greater technical control. This allows for more precise tricks.

Four zones for all levels

The park is structured into clearly separated zones, which allows for a smooth coexistence between practitioners of all ages and levels. The children's area offers games and a mini-ride with small bumps, mini bowl and mini rail, for the youngest who want to ride like the grown-ups. The flow park features four bowls with progressive curves, Ideal for working on trajectory and speed. The street park replicates urban obstacles: stairs, curbs, ledges, rails, gaps, and manual pads. Finally, the main bowl, with its varying depths and extensions, is perfect for experienced riders. Skateboards, BMX bikes, rollerblades, and scooters are all welcome throughout the park.

Olympic skateboarding: Calais joins the big leagues

Skateboarding made its Olympic debut in Tokyo in 2021, the same year the Calais Beach Skatepark was inaugurated. This coincidence is far from insignificant: the park was designed from the outset to Olympic standards, with features and dimensions conforming to international competition norms. Bowls, street park elements, and trick combinations replicate the layouts of the world's biggest events. This technical rigor makes the Calais Beach Skatepark one of the few public facilities in France capable of hosting national, and even international, level events, with free access and right on the seafront. For riders who follow the competitive scene, it's also a serious training ground. For everyone else, it's simply one of the most beautiful outdoor skating spots in northern France.

Equipment rooted in the Californian spirit

The Calais Beach Skatepark is fully in line with the vision for the redevelopment of Calais THE Beach The goal is to transform the seafront into an open, sporty, and popular living space. Access is completely free, with no age limit, and during the season, the park generates a constant buzz, bringing together experienced riders, families, and curious onlookers. Children as young as 3 or 4 can access the area reserved for them; from age 8, access to the bowl, street park, and flow park is open. The skatepark is now one of the most popular facilities in Calais LA Plage, and one of the few of its size in France located directly on the seafront.
