Built between 1866 and 1868 to support the growth of the newly independent town, it replaced the old chapel which had become too small for the expanding population. Designed by the architect Amédée Stensmaght, it is distinguished by its elegant architecture combining red brick and Tournehem stone, typical of the Calais region's heritage.

Inside, the light illuminates a simple and peaceful space, conducive to contemplation. As visitors discover the church, they delve into an important chapter of local history: that of a village born from the former marshes and which, in the 19th century, became a fully independent municipality.
