See the long description

The Village Saint-Joseph in Guînes is a fascinating eco-museum that offers an immersion into French life from the 1900s to the 1970s. Located in the marshes of Guînes, this place has been recreated by a family of passionate artisans, using period materials and tools from the Opal Coast. Visitors can explore around thirty workshops and stalls such as a forge, a mill, a tavern, and many others, allowing visitors to relive the trades and traditions of yesteryear.

The village is designed to be an intergenerational experience where young and old can discover or rediscover forgotten trades, such as mechanic, carpenter, or blacksmith. There are also shaded areas and restaurants suitable for visitors, making the visit comfortable and enjoyable.

The village's estaminet offers typical regional dishes, and it is recommended to book in advance, especially during busy periods. The village is open from late March to mid-October, and it is advisable to allow between two and four hours to fully enjoy the experience.
