The Dragon Company

A unique experience

On the Calais seafront, the Compagnie du Dragon offers an extraordinary encounter with the monumental Dragon of Calais. This spectacular machine, inspired by reptiles, roams the seawall and takes visitors on a journey several meters above the ground. An artistic and mechanical experience that makes Calais LA Plage a unique destination in Europe.

Endless activities!

Gourmet village, event space and seaside atmosphere

Calais Beach offers a unique setting with two permanent attractions: the Dragon of Calais roaming the seawall and the sea, and the passage of ferries connecting to England, whose cliffs can be seen on a clear day. One last tip: don't hesitate to take the whole family to the jetty, up close to the boats sailing in the distance.

In the warmer months, food and event villages bring the seafront to life. Iconic chip shops, ice cream parlors, and pop-up terraces offer simple, popular flavors to accompany the sunsets. It's the perfect place to meet up after a stroll, a dragon boat ride, or a workout.

A fine sandy beach stretching for over a kilometer

Calais Beach stretches for over a kilometer of fine sand. Accessible, wide, and open, it's perfect for swimming, beach games, long walks in the fresh sea air, or simply contemplating the horizon. The wind, the ever-changing colors of the sky, and the proximity of the Strait of Gibraltar create a vibrant and constantly evolving landscape.

Facing the horizon, the iconic white chalets punctuate the landscape and offer a picture-postcard panorama typical of the Opal Coast.

The Calais Beach Skatepark: 4000 m2 of bowl, park and regap

In a short time, this free-access skate park has made a name for itself in the rider community. It's the largest outdoor area in Hauts-de-France! Experienced riders and athletes can train and improve their skills here. A dedicated area is available for beginners and younger children, with street furniture nearby for parents to watch. The rules are based on common sense, thanks to the friendly atmosphere among riders and the requirement to wear protective gear. And let's face it, what an exceptional setting to express yourself! Calais beach and its lively seafront, facing the beach, with the movement of ships and the Dragon of Calais as a backdrop. Truly unique!
