The Coulée Verte, a 6-kilometer greenway accessible to people with reduced mobility, connects the Sapins roundabout to the main facilities in Coquelles: a playground and sports equipment, a marked night trail, information panels about the town's heritage in the Pierre Mathéron square, and educational trails focusing on the biodiversity of ditches and wetlands. It also provides access to the coastal GR (long-distance hiking trail), the GR 120, and the Blériot-Plage and Peuplingues trails.

A Calquella is mentioned as early as 1145, but the history of Coquelles is inextricably linked to that of the Channel Tunnel. The construction and opening of the tunnel gave the town a decisive boost, ushering it into modernity and shaping its new character. It was in Coquelles, on May 6, 1994, that the President of the French Republic, the Queen of England, and Pierre Crespel, the town's mayor, inaugurated "the construction site of the 20th century," which symbolizes the success of a human endeavor and an unparalleled technological challenge.

The Coulée Verte de Coquelles is a cycle and pedestrian path nestled in a natural setting, safe and accessible to people with reduced mobility, which provides access to numerous facilities. For sports and leisure, it features a circular running track made of wood chips, an area equipped with exercise equipment, a nighttime jogging route with illuminated markers, a playground for children aged 1-12, and an orienteering course for children aged 2-7.
On the cultural side, the introductory trail to the town's heritage, located in the Pierre Mathéron square, recounts, through exhibition panels, the prehistory of Coquelles, its ancient and recent history, the construction of the Channel Tunnel and the City of Europe...as well as the workings of the old mill. From an environmental perspective, educational panels explain the tall-herb vegetation, the role of the ditches, and the wet meadows that border the path. The Coulée Verte also connects to the coastal GR trail to the north, the GR 120 to the west, and the Blériot-Plage and Peuplingues trails.
