Starting from the Hames-Boucres village hall, the longest circuit in the area, at 16,5 kilometers marked in yellow (4 hours), passes by the Sainte-Victoire chapel and then follows the Pierrettes canal to the Carrée lock, before reaching Guînes via the path known as the "Guînes train path". The return route crosses the town center and then the countryside back to Hames-Boucres.

The town's history is marked by numerous events, such as the famous Field of the Cloth of Gold meeting in 1520 between King Francis I and King Henry VIII of England. The Clock Tower, near the town hall square, allows you to travel back in time from Siegfried the Viking to Francis I, by way of Henry VIII. You will even have the opportunity to glimpse the silhouette of this illustrious figure on your way out of Guînes, on the return journey to Hames-Boucres.

The Carrée lock is one of the structures in the network known as the wateringues, whose primary role is to regulate the water level in the coastal plain stretching from Calais to Belgian Flanders. This type of structure allows a river, in this case the Rivière Neuve, to pass under a canal, in this case the Guînes canal, via a siphon.
