A month of funfair fun at the Western Basin
Every year, the funfair sets up its attractions at the Bassin Ouest (Western Basin) for nearly a month, from July 25th to August 23rd. A must-attend event for the people of Calais, it brings together thrill rides, carousels for younger children, shooting galleries, and duck fishing, all in one place, in an atmosphere where cotton candy and churros mingle with the aroma of waffles. It takes over from the winter fair, which is held at the beginning of each year in the Place du Soldat Inconnu (Unknown Soldier Square), in the heart of the city. Each year brings new attractions to the fair, including both historical favorites and brand-new additions.

On Sunday, August 2nd, the funfair will host a Lion King-themed parade, complete with fire-eaters. This special event will add some excitement to the first two weeks of the fair, a period during which all the fairground operators are required to be present.

New for 2026
Thrill-seekers: Horror Spuk, Booster Cyber One and the pirate ship Capitaine are back in the West Basin
The Horror Spuk ghost train, run by the Guevar family, is back on its two levels: darkness, creatures, and surprising effects await visitors at every turn. Just a few meters away, the KMG-designed Booster Cyber One offers one of the most intense thrills on the site with its Speed option.
The pirate ship Captain had already caused a sensation at the winter fair. This time, it's dropping anchor for the entire duration of the summer funfair. A first for this thrilling attraction, which adds to the already impressive lineup of rides at the Calais fair.

The Mouse makes its entrance with sharp turns and unexpected changes of direction, a family attraction accessible from the youngest age. Right next door, new mini flying chairs cater to the little ones, offering a first ride up high designed just for them.
