Opened in the early 2000s, the center was designed by architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte in a resolutely contemporary style: a semicircular building opening onto a vast landscaped park designed to offer a green oasis between shops. Its location in Coquelles is no coincidence: just minutes from the Channel Tunnel terminal, the center targeted British tourists from the outset, who came to France in search of prices they couldn't find at home.

©Nohcab The site has had several names over time: Marques Avenue Côte d'Opale, then L'Usine Côte d'Opale, before becoming Channel Outlet, a name that fully embraces its cross-Channel focus. Some regulars still refer to it by its former names. While the center's appearance has evolved over the years, the spirit remains unchanged: offering year-round discounts of at least 30% on major brands, in an environment designed for leisurely browsing rather than simply hunting for bargains.
Right next to Cité Europe
Channel Outlet is adjacent to the Cité Europe shopping centre with its 140 shops, diverse restaurants and a cinema. Together, the two sites form one of the largest retail concentrations on the coast, featuring international brands, restaurants and leisure activities, all accessible on foot from the same free car parks.
This can transform a simple shopping trip into a full day in Coquelles: a morning at the outlet for bargains, lunch and an afternoon at the cinema or bowling near Cité Europe, without ever having to take the car in between.
