Coquelles is the town of the Channel Tunnel. Next to the charming town hall, the Heritage Centre is the essential place to learn everything about this landmark construction project. The rich collections of the "Channel Tunnel Builders Association" bear witness to a true industrial, technical, and human epic. The construction of the Channel Tunnel lasted from 1987 to 1993. It is known as the "Channel Tunnel Builders Association." It was a major turning point in the history of relations between continental Europe and Great Britain. This period dramatically transformed the landscape west of Calais and affected the local population. More than 4500 men and women from the region worked on this legendary project. The memory of this construction site, this technological challenge, and these men and women has been preserved by the "Channel Tunnel Builders Association." At the Coquelles Heritage Centre, a 40 m² space allows visitors to discover numerous photos, videos, and press clippings about this period deeply rooted in local memory. Admission: Free. Opening days: Wednesdays from 2 pm to 5 pm and the last Saturday of each month.
