Travel advisors

To strengthen the Tourist Office team, we are looking for two people Visitor advisors will be responsible for welcoming, informing, and advising visitors, while promoting the Calais XXL destination. You will play a key role in promoting the region and ensuring a high-quality visitor experience.

One position available from April 1, 2026 to August 31, 2026
One position available from May 1st to September 30th, 2026

Missions

  •  To be responsible for the image and reputation of the organization.  
  •  To offer a personalized welcome to visitors of the Office.  
  •  Promoting the Calais XXL territory.

Tourist Office Reception  

  • Welcoming, guiding and advising clients (individuals and groups) face-to-face, by telephone and by email, in French and foreign languages.  
  • Identify the public's expectations, offer a suitable service, initiate an additional sale and ensure a personalized welcome.
  • Provide all commercial and tourist information related to the structures managed by the SPL (prices, schedules, terms and conditions, local tourist offer, etc.).  
  • To stay continuously informed of local news in order to promote it and raise public awareness of the new brand.  
  • Escalate customer complaints.  
  • Record visitor statistics in the software and ensure the reception area is well maintained.

Ticket Office – Shop  

  • Ensure the recording of sales and the collection of payments for products (shop) and/or services.  
  •  Ensure the opening and closing of the point of sale with cash register counting.  
  •  Receive the packages, check that the deliveries are correct.  
  •  Stocking shelves with products and items, participating in the labeling of references.  
  •  Contribute to the missions related to the proper functioning of the Audience Development Department.

Required profile

knowledge  

  • Customer typology.  
  • Good knowledge of the Calais area and its main tourist facilities.  
  •  Principles of customer relationship management.  
  •  Cash handling procedures, sales and point-of-sale software.  
  •  Safety rules for property and people.

Operational know-how  

  • To welcome customers and offer a service tailored to their needs.  
  •  Selling products or services.  
  •  Proficiency in computer tools (Word, Excel…).  
  •  Mastering at least one foreign language.

 

Know-how

  • Organised, rigorous, autonomous.  
  •  Good listening skills, strong interpersonal skills.  
  •  Adaptability, stress management.  
  •  Quality of presentation, discretion.  
  •  A sense of pedagogy, creativity, and intellectual curiosity.

Desired profile  

  • Bac+2, ideally BTS Tourism.  
  •  Customer service experience.  
  •  Good knowledge of the Calais area and its surrounding region.  
  •  BAFA appreciated.

 

 Working conditions

  • Fixed-term contract, full-time – 35 hours per week.  
  • Annualization of working time.  
  • Frequent work on weekends and public holidays.  
  • Position based in Calais.  
  • Position involving regular standing.

Retail Customer Service Representative / Ticketing and Group Booking

 The Boutique/Ticketing and Group Booking Customer Service Representative is responsible for the administrative and operational management of group bookings and provides support at the point of sale. 35 hours/week position 

One position available from April 1st to August 31st, 2026

 Breakdown of activity:

• 60% (3 days) Group Booking Service (Back-office).
• 40% (2 days) Shop & Ticket Office (Physical Reception / Front Office).

This ratio can be reversed temporarily depending on peak activity and service needs.

Missions

Group booking manager

  • Answering telephone calls and processing emails from group clients (French/English).
  • Provide information on prices, schedules, terms and conditions and local tourist offers.
  • Booking administration: entering quotes and monitoring ongoing files
  • Handling or escalating customer complaints
  • Interface between customers and the various internal departments (Sales, Shop, Pilots). 

Account Manager

  •  Sales: Managing the shop/ticket office sales point
  •  Advise and inform individual clients about the specifics of the facility (schedule, price, terms and conditions, etc.) and the local tourist offer (French and English).
  • Handling or escalating customer complaints 

Required profile

knowledge  

  • Customer relations: Proficiency in telephone and in-person reception techniques
  • Languages: Fluent English / Second language appreciated (German / Dutch)
  • Computer skills: Proficiency in office software and ability to use sales software
  • Mastery of sales techniques

Traveling advisors during stays

To strengthen the Tourist Office team, we are looking for two Visitor Advisors responsible for welcoming, informing, and advising visitors while promoting the Calais XXL destination. You will actively contribute to promoting the region and ensuring a high-quality experience for our visitors. As part of your duties, you will be required to intervene on different sites : at theCalais XXL Tourist Office visit us at the Blériot-Plage Tourist Chaletor a Stopovers, as well as roaming on the urban area.

2 positions available from July 1st to August 31st, 2026

Missions

  • Provide mobile reception services in pairs and deliver documentation to our partners 
  • Answering the phone, managing the information point, and ensuring the space is well-maintained
